The concern with the original hinge was that, along with normal wear, any rust that developed on the top , center or bottom portions of the hinge was deposited over the inside area of the hinge. When the rust built up in the hinge it created a binding effect thereby restricting
movement of the hinge pin in the bushing.
The repair offered through KSSD for the replacement of the door hinge pins and bushings results in the flow of grease to the entire area in the bushing ride region(s) of the hinge, thereby not allowing rust to form. The design of the KSSD door hinge pin allows grease to access the crucial areas of the hinges.
